students define writing tasks for themselves. Likewise,
teachers may use this organizer when working with students to
help define writing tasks based on the content being studied.

standards-based on-demand writing tasks. These
sample prompts were developed during the Summer 2009
Integrating On-demand Writing Workshop and were kindly
submitted by participating teachers for your use. The
sample prompts are organized by grade level, but you may also
download the whole bank of prompts in the first file below.
